Homosapien II

For my final project in wearable technology I was prompted to create an item from my own speculative future. I chose to derive my concept from my dream journal. This head set and accompanying equipment were made based off a dream about adopting a bee colony hive mind and its implications into urban reparative farming. While the one operating the head set performs the role of the queen a worker force of robots perform the role of the drone.

Support Vest

To mount all the hardware on the body I hijacked a secondhand bullet proof vest. It already featured a modular equipment system so I made my hardware to fit its specs. The vest currently holds the four battery banks, control panel, and air filtration. These components can be added, removed and rearranged to suit the users needs.

Air Filtration

Air Filtration for breathing is located on the back of the vest and pulls air though a 3M dust filter. A series of re purposed computer tower fans direct air though a food grade silicon tube to the mouth of the wearers mask. Exhaust from the breathing support is pushed through the gap in the mouth of the mask.

This system can be used seperately from the VR system for expeditions into areas with polluted air.

Worker Drone

Made in the image of the system operator, the worker drone is equipped with gear to face adverse climates. A water Proof Poncho made from reclaimed fabrics.
