With increased boat traffic on Lake Muskoka shoreline habitats have struggled to survive. The rock walls, pathways and pens are built to help foster the delicate shoreline flora and fauna, sheltering them from the relentless waves. Inspired by indigenous resource management techniques from around the world the rock structures aim to not only protect the shoreline ecosystem but make it flourish.
